My Paw Wellness is a cat care website written from a pet owner’s perspective. This page explains how articles are chosen, researched, written, and updated, so you know what you can expect from everything published here.
Who Writes the Articles
Articles are written by Luna Saber, a cat owner who lives with four cats. I am not a veterinarian, and I never present myself as one. My goal is to explain cat health, nutrition, and behavior topics clearly, share what I have learned as an owner, and help you understand when your cat needs professional care.
How Topics Are Chosen
Topics come from real questions cat owners ask: things I have wondered about with my own cats, questions readers send in, and common questions people search for. I only write about a topic if I believe I can give a clear, useful answer that helps an owner decide what to do next.
How Articles Are Researched
- Health and nutrition information is checked against reputable veterinary and animal-health sources, such as the ASPCA, Cornell Feline Health Center, VCA Animal Hospitals, Merck Veterinary Manual, and peer-reviewed studies where available.
- The main sources used are listed at the end of each article so you can read them yourself.
- When sources disagree, or when the evidence for cats is limited, the article says so instead of guessing.
- Personal experiences are clearly written as personal experiences, not as medical advice.
How Health Topics Are Handled
Every health article aims to answer three questions: what might be happening, what you can safely do at home, and which signs mean you should contact a veterinarian. Articles about urgent problems include clear warning signs and emergency guidance near the top of the page.
I do not recommend medications, doses, or treatments that should only be given under veterinary supervision.
Tools and Calculators
Tools such as the cat food calculator use standard published formulas. Each tool explains how it works and what its limits are. Results are estimates and should be adjusted with your veterinarian’s guidance.
Product Recommendations and Affiliate Links
Some articles mention products. When an article contains affiliate links, I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored, and a commission never decides whether a product is recommended. Products are chosen based on ingredients, suitability for the problem discussed, and owner feedback.
Advertising
This website may display ads to cover running costs. Advertisers have no influence over what is written, and ads are kept separate from article content.
Use of AI Tools
I sometimes use AI tools to help with tasks such as outlining, editing, or creating illustrations. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked against the sources listed, and edited by me before it is published. AI is never used to invent experiences, quotes, or facts.
Updates and Corrections
Articles are reviewed and updated when new information becomes available or when a reader points out a mistake. If you find an error, please let me know through the Contact page and I will check it and correct it as quickly as possible.
